Course Purpose:
This CME program is designed to cover clinical aspects of breast imaging including conventional and digital mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and interventional procedures, as well as medicolegal issues. The faculty consists of nine nationally and internationally recognized experts. The program of lectures and panel discussions will be filled with “take home” information that should benefit every breast imaging practice.
Course Objectives:
At the completion of the course, the participant should be able to:
1. Discuss the latest ACR BI-RADS terminology for breast abnormalities seen on mammography, ultrasound, and MRI.
2. Develop a systematic approach to the assessment of calcifications, masses and asymmetries seen on mammography.
3. Appreciate the latest technologic developments in digital mammography, breast ultrasound and breast MRI.
4. Understand the evolving role of ultrasound and MRI in screening, problem solving, and staging.
5. Reduce their risk of false negative interpretation and malpractice litigation.
Target Audience:
This course is designed for radiologists who interpret breast imaging studies and perform breast interventional procedures. Physicians in other specialties involved with the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases, medical physicists, mammography technologists, breast center administrators, and other health care professionals will also benefit from this course.
